Good things come to those who wait, and playing Iron Horse with @montana_tech alum Tom Bandy ‘76 and Bob Bronson was something special! The joy of teeing it up for #MontanasLongestDrive again has left me so thankful for all the courses I’ve played, people I’ve met, and amazing opportunities I’ve experienced! That’s officially 114 courses played in Montana with only Crystal Lakes left that I haven’t played. I’m not sure if that will ever happen, but I’m still ecstatic to have been able to finally check Iron Horse off the list! #GoDiggers #IronHorse #Golf #travel WE DID IT!!!
Yesterday, I had the great pleasure of teeing it up with Tom Coyne the New York Times Bestselling Author of “A Course Called Ireland” and “A Course Called Scotland”. Tom is traveling all around the United States for his next book “A Course Called America” and played Old Works with the two guys who have played more golf in Montana than anyone else, my friend Gerry Veis and myself. #montanaslongestdrive #ACourseCalledAmerica #CitizensofACCA #ACCA
If this summer proved anything, it is that you meet the best people playing this great game. Over the 8,507 miles I drove from May 9th to August 3rd, I was consistently reinvigorated and energized by the people I got to tee it up with across Montana. As much as this summer was about setting out to make a dream reality, it became more about the relationships I built with the people met along the way than I ever could have imagined. #montanaslongestdrive #Montana #Golf #golfdigest #golfmagazine
As this golf season slowly wraps up, I am reminded how far this great game has taken me... From Plentywood to Eureka, and from Broadus to Hamilton, I set out this summer to play every course in Montana and unfortunately I fell short of that goal. In all I played 112 golf courses, walked 520 miles, and spent 87 days on the road. But despite not playing Iron Horse Golf Club in Whitefish and Crystal Lakes in Fortine, I consider this summer a monumental success and the best summer of my life. In every town and on every highway in this Treasure State I have friends and a memory that I will cherish forever. For everyone who has supported Montana’s Longest Drive, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and wish you all the best of luck on the Fairways and Greens of the future. #Montana #MontanasLongestDrive #Golf #golftravel #travelMT
